ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him said, “Surplus water (1) should not be withheld in order to prevent pasture (2).” Footnotes: (1) i.e. water exceeding the need of well owners. (2) If the animals are not allowed access to the water, they will not graze in that area. ”

Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب تفسير القرآن باب ومن سورة النساء

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِى عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لاَ أَسْمَعُ اللَّهَ ذَكَرَ النِّسَاءَ فِى الْهِجْرَةِ. فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَنِّى لاَ أُضِيعُ عَمَلَ عَامِلٍ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَى بَعْضُكُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ.
Umm-Salamah said, "Messenger of God, I have not heard God mention anything about women and the hijrah (1)." So God, exalted is He, revealed, "Never will I allow to be lost the work of [any] worker among you, whether male or female; you are of one another."
